Lazy day at the pool

The campground only heats the hot tub a few hours in the evening, which makes it perfect temperature for me the next afternoon.

I was sitting here, relaxing, and behaving myself but the parents really wanted me to splash them for some reason.

See how happy Dad is that he's been splashed?

Mom too, she likes me playing around.

hanging in the camp

We haven't had much blog worthy activity around here. Dad's working a lot and Mom and I have already explored pretty much everything there is to explore in Blythe.
The evenings have been nice and warm for just hanging out in the front yard.
Sometimes it gets kind of buggy so they throw me in the peapod.

Things standing on rocks (or our first trip to Joshua Tree NP)

Saddling up the Dad horse for our walk in the park.
From the high point of the trail, that's the Salton Sea down in that valley.
The spots on this lizard we gold, blue, or green depending on the way the sun was hitting it. Mom and Dad couldn't figure out what kind of lizard this is.  But it's standing on a rock.
Desert Side-blotched Lizard sitting on a rock.
Dad and I standing at the top of stairs cut into the rock on the trail.
Dad, Mom, and I standing on a rock.
Dad contemplates the gin and tonic possibilities of these huge juniper berries.
Northern Desert Iguana standing on a rock.
I needed a lunch break so we found some rocks to sit on with a nice view.  Yeah full tummy.
Desert bluebell
Some sort of pea flower
California poppy (standing on a rock).
Ocotillo in bloom.
Mojave Zebra-tailed Lizard standing on small rocks.  Sometimes I stand like this too.
Mom and I with the teddy bear cholla.
Teddy bear cholla??  This is why I snuggle with a sandhill crane not a teddy bear.
White tailed antelope ground squirrel standing near rocks.
Joshua tree savannah
A really big, really old Joshua tree

Casita de Mitchell del Blythe

We've been busy this week and haven't managed to get much work done on the computer-neglected both this blog and mommy's paper. Oh well, what we did do is find a trailer to rent for the rest of our time in Blythe and get settled in.

Mom and I on the step.

I play in my peapod whenever I can.

Our new casita even has a hot tub...at least it has a hot tub for me.

We have lots of pictures from our first visit to Joshua Tree that Mom or Dad will get up as soon as they have time.

Desert garden

Glass art work at the entrance to the Phoenix Desert Plant Botanical Garden.
Planning our approach to the garden with Moms friend Chelsea.

A hummingbird at one of the Aloes.

Mom and Chelsea under a tree that's related to peas.

A Gila Woodpecker.

Cacti and a really cool sky.

A pincushion(?) of Cacti.

Cactus spines. Mom says not to touch these.

A penstemon and a nice sky.

A honeybee.

Pretty flowers.

More pretty flowers.

Not rocks. Lithops. Mom always squeals "LITHOPS..." when she sees these.

Cactus buds?

Dad missed this butterfly but the picture is still kinda cool.

Another pretty butterfly.

A pretty butterfly on a pretty plant.

More pretty flowers and a butterfly.
Mom and I liked the butterfly garden.

So did Dad.

I'm not actually a caterpillar.

Dads holding me here...

A picture for Mom and Chelsea's friend Marcy.

A final pretty flower picture.
